Fusion’s Fading Star book released!

“The” book on fusion’s problems and prospects has been released, Fusion’s Fading Star.

The book is now available on Amazon.

About the book:

Fusion is the ultimate source of power on earth.

Obtaining energy from fusion is the natural continuation of the 20th century’s success in obtaining energy from nuclear fission. It would have many advantages over both fission and all previous energy sources, not least the possibility to radically expand the use of energy that has been the foundation of all of humanity’s technological accomplishments. Research into nuclear fusion power began almost at once, at least as early as 1946, and is today the object of a rare collaboration of almost all the world’s large economies. Nonetheless, fusion power has not been delivered. Fusion’s Fading Star asks why not, what could have been done differently, and what should be done differently today? The answers may be surprising.

Dr. Michael Cole is a world-recognised fusion energy scientist who has worked for Princeton University’s US Department of Energy fusion laboratory and the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics. He has presented his work on fusion at meetings of the International Atomic Energy Agency as a nominee of Germany and the United States of America. He is author of numerous peer-reviewed research articles.

Fusion’s Fading Star is a non-technical book suitable for the interested public, fusion investors, fusion policy-makers, and fusion specialists.
